Hooge Heyde is located near the “Kempense Heuvelrug”. The “Kempense Heuvelrug” is widely known in the Kempen and beyond as the largest relief in the region. Extensive coniferous forests interspersed with heathlands, ponds such as the “Zwart Water” or the “Snepkensvijver”, parabolic dunes, hollow roads and deciduous forests shape the landscape. Good for hours of walking pleasure.
All you have to do is cycle out of the street of Hooge Heyde and you will reach the cycling network of the “Antwerpse Kempen”. You can map out a beautiful cycling route yourself or ask our reception for a detailed route. Enjoy ice creams on the ice cream route, follow the “Prinsenroute” for a generous portion of nature, fascinating heritage and atmospheric places in the “Kempen”, or cycle along beautiful windmills with the windmill route.
On the Kleine Nete you can explore a beautiful part of the Kempen in an original way. The fairway of the Kleine Nete is nice and quiet, so everyone, trained or, can take a kayak trip and can fully enjoy the nature along the way.
Kayaks can be rented in Netherust tavern, just a 10-minute drive from Corsendonk Hooge Heyde.
In Kasterlee, the mountain bike course consists of three connecting loops marked with a coloured triangle. If you ride all three revolutions, then you have a total of 37.7 kilometers in your legs. It is a varied route with steep climbs, curves and narrow paths alternating in a flat, rural and wooded environment.
